Hi, I’m Vinay Kulkarni,
Associate Engineer at Qualcomm, where I manage the infrastructure for approximately ~40K VMs. My primary experience is in cloud VM deployment, orchestration, and management. I also develop and maintain systems that automatically detect and recover failed VMs while helping prevent similar failures from recurring.
Currently, I’m interested in Go and AI tools. One of the AI tools I’ve built is Shelly, a terminal-based LLM client that helps with Linux commands and terminal-related questions you always seem to forget. I’m also working on implementing a BitTorrent client in Go.

My resolutions for this year:
- Learn to swim (I was much safer in the water when I didn’t know how to swim)
